CITY TAX IN ROME

The contribution, understood as economic support for the efforts in organizing the city's urban services, aims to ensure tourists the best and most efficient reception.
The contribution will be applied as from 1 January 2011 and is owed by those staying in accommodation in the area of the capital city of Rome at the end of each stay, with the exception of the hostels.
It 'good to keep in mind that the contribution is due by those who have booked and paid for the trip through a travel agency or through a tour operator and therefore deliver to the reception of the accommodation voucher only.
Are exempt from children under the age of ten.

Are exempt from payment of tax:
a) children within ten years of age;
b) those who stay at youth hostels.
c) the sick and those who assist patients admitted to health facilities in the ratio of one escort per patient.
d) carers of sick parents under the age of eighteen.

The exemption is conditional upon presentation of proper certification of the hospital stating the identity of the patient or the patient and the reference period for the medical services or hospitalization. The accompanying person must also declare, under Articles 46 and 47 of Presidential Decree No 445 of 2000 and subsequent amendments, that the living accommodation is aimed at health care in respect of the subject-patient. "
3. The bus drivers and tour guides who provide assistance to groups organized by travel agencies and tourism.
The exemption applies to each coach driver and tour guide for every 25 participants.

B & B Euro 2 per person per night up to 10 days
Bed 2 euros per person per night up to 10 days
Holiday 2 euros per person per night up to 10 days
Guest houses Euro 2 per person per night max 10 days
Residence 2 euros per person per night up to 10 days
Hotels 1, 2, 3 stars 2 euros per person per night up to 10 days
4.5 stars Hotels 3 euros per person per night up to 10 days
